Pagan Books: Why Dumb It Down?

We tend to automatically go to the lowest common denominator when it comes to recommending reading material to people new to Wicca and paganism. While many prefer basic, the trend of assuming that a new person cannot handle anything in-depth at the start is, I feel, a detriment to the pagan community.

I am 45…i am still shocked how many wiccans are dummied-down…(i became norse pagan as a child watching elizabeth montgomery on bewitched? and reading thor comic books)…but most never read 300 library books on their religion…most are bunnys or angry twitches who only want revenge spells!

@bbassel – Well, by the nature of the title, I don’t dumb anything down.
If they are? repelled simply by a title, they’re not mature enough for the message. I don’t agree with the “high-end” comment. Everything on my reading list can be found easily on Amazon. I’ve also found them at Half-Price Books.
